Sometimes knowing the right question is more important than knowing the right answer. Just look at the thousands of dollars that are won every day on Jeopardy!
If a scientist doesn’t ask the right question, he or she will follow the paths that do not lead to solving the problem. If the president of a corporation doesn’t ask the right question at the right time he or she will not successfully provide for the company’s future. If you are an employee, think of the importance of questions you put to your bosses. Asking the right question can lead to your promotion – or the wrong question to your termination from employment.
Think of how important it is for a police detective to ask the right question, or a doctor, or a psychiatrist. Asking the right question is a skill and an art.
And then there are those in love. Lovers spend hours and hours asking each other questions because they want to know everything there is to know about the ones they love. To know is to love and to love is to know.
Today we hear Jesus asking the question. “Who do people say that I am?” But then he asks THE question. “Who do YOU say that I am?”
God bless! Have a wonderful week!
